Day 1 Bible Verse Challenge

I was challenged by Misty, a friend from Philippines.

The mechanics is to post Bible verse for seven (7) days and nominate seven (7) friends each day to do the same.

The Promise

I saw this post on Facebook about sharing their calligraphy verses, journal, and their reflection on social media using the hashtag:

#BibleJournalingWithCalligramommas.

I thought of participating for fun.

So here’s my first entry.

I am using S.O.A.P. style to study God’s Word. I know it’s not that deep learning but I decided to use however it is to hear God’s message.

SOAP -Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer

Scripture

Jeremiah Chapter One

One of the verses I like in this chapter is in verse eight (8)

I promise to be with you and keep you safe, so don’t be afraid.
Jeremiah 1:8

Observation

Jeremiah is a priest from the tribe of Benjamin. The Lord chooses him to speak God’s message to the nations. He was doubtful and unwilling for two reasons: he doesn’t speak well, and he is young.

The Lord had chosen him for a great purpose. His task is to bring words of doom and words of hope. God knows that this will be difficult, but God promised to keep him safe. Whether you’re young or unqualified as you think, if God wants to use you, He would.

“Ah, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am only a child.”
Jeremiah 1:6

There must be something in him that he had God’s eyes. I can imagine how terrified he was. But the Lord promised to be with him. And that, my friend, is amazing. A God of creation had chosen you to speak for him.

Application

Trust Him

Many times we doubt ourselves, we look down on ourselves. We do think that we are not capable of doing great things. But remember that when God called you, He will enable you. God qualifies the ones He chose. All you need to do is to trust Him.

When God called you, He will enable you.

Obey Him.

Jeremiah must be terrified to do what God wants Him to do, but He did it anyway. He obeyed God. It’s a privilege to be chosen to speak for Him. If God is calling you to do something for Him, do not be afraid. He is with you, always.

So whatever your fear right now, I encourage you to trust God’s promises. I am sure He has a purpose for your life. Do not be afraid. The road won’t be smooth, there will be uncertainties, but what is sure is, God is there, and you are secured.

Listen to His voice and be brave enough to follow His instructions. You will find them in His Words, the Bible. Take your time. He is waiting for you.

Prayer

I don’t have much to give, Lord. But bestow me the courage to give whatever I have to follow You. Remove any doubts and fear in my heart so I would be able to do things for You. Activate my discernment so I could hear your voice. And during difficulties, help me to trust you even more. In Jesus name, Amen.

Labor Day is Beach Day

This is how we spend our day on Labor Day, May 1. At the same time, we are celebrating my daughter’s 6th month.

We are blessed to be in Aruba. We can just simply go to the beach anytime we want and enjoy the sun, the beach, and the breeze.

It’s great we could spend time with family today. My husband has been working during the lockdown.

It’s also a celebration for us because Zoey, our daughter, just turned 6th month old yesterday. Time flies by so fast.

As promised, baby Zoey. Here we are – Beach time. 🙂 She loves the sand, she didn’t complain. She’s a happy baby.

In Aruba, during ‘Shelter in Place’, we still go outside and continue to live. But there are precautions like you cannot go to the beach as a group. The maximum is 3 people.

We need the vitamin from the sun and vitamin sea. 🙂

There’s the fun part. Zoey’s first on the seawater. She cried at first maybe because it’s cold but then she tried to adapt. She surely had fun! 🙂

Thank God for the gift of family. They are both my blessings! 🙂 We may not know what would happen next but when we look at the good things in life, you calm down and just breathe thanking God for everything.

While walking at the beach and in deep thoughts, I received a Word from the Lord “I will direct your steps”

Just like the lines from the poem Footprints in the Sand:

He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you.”

So when we worry, remember that God is always there. He still wants you to enjoy life. Hang in there, this pandemic will soon be over.

When we were on our way home, daddy bought me doughnuts and iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts. It’s his treat for me. I’m the photographer. HAHA (Yes, DD at Alhambra, Eagle beach is now open again)

We all find ways to enjoy life during crisis. How did you spend your Labor Day? Whether you’re at home or you go outside, REST and RELAX are the best gifts you can give to yourself. You work hard. You deserve that.

Maternity Photoshoot

Hello there!

How’s everyone? I hope you are all doing fine during this coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.

I decided to accept our situation for a while and just simply look at the brighter side. You see, there are a lot of people doing tag challenges, throwback challenges on Facebook or other social media to make themselves busy and positive on the current situation. It’s fun and good to remember the old times when we can go outside and enjoy our days. These days we are forced to stay home to flatten the curve of this deadliest virus spreading all the world.

So I decided to share some of the good times — my pregnancy photo shoot. Truthfully I wasn’t that in the mood to share my belly and changes in my body during those times. But when I came to think of it, I wished I was that enthusiastic to save photos every single month to observe the changes and the beauty of it. Oh well! It’s my first. Now, it’s a lesson. Maybe next time. 🙂 But I am glad I had two photoshoots within nine (9) months.

I will share some of the images when I was 23 weeks pregnant, six months, second trimester. These photos are taken at one of the beautiful beaches in Aruba. It is called Eagle Beach.

23rd week

Under the famous tree called Fofoti. This tree grows on the beach. I always wanted to have a photo under this, thank God it was just perfect time with my little angel inside.

My cousin, CG is my photographer. He encouraged me to do this photoshoot. I am so grateful for him. God bless his heart.

Sitting down and bending down was not that difficult at that moment. I could still do it but slowly. It is a perfect shot. I like this one. I didn’t want to show my belly but I think it’s pretty good to have a clear view of how my bump looks like. Man, exposed!

I have never been confident as I was when I was pregnant. Being a mother (to be <at that moment>) makes you brave in every way. I enjoyed the experience, I enjoyed being pregnant. I enjoyed the photoshoot although I am not that good at posing and modeling.

Quarantine Coffee: Dalgona

Dalgona Coffee

“Dalgona coffee is a beverage made by whipping instant coffee, sugar and water until it becomes creamy and then adding it to chilled milk.”

It is a Korean coffee and popularized by TikTok app users while on quarantine. It went viral and everyone is doing it during corona virus lock downs.

It’s great to see people trying to make and learn something new and fun during this crisis.

I got curious so I tried it at home. If you haven’t try it yet, feel free to use this recipe. 🙂

What you need:

2 tbsp instant coffee
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp hot water
1 cup of Milk (I used Almond Milk)
Ice
Optional : 1tsp Cacao (mocha)

Electric mixer or regular whisk

Procedure:

Mix the instant coffee, brown sugar and hot water using a regular whisk or an electric mixer until it becomes light brownish and thick. Set aside
Pour milk in a mug or cup with ice. (you can also serve it hot)
Pour the foam mixture on top of the milk.
Serve it! Enjoy

If you want mocha taste, just add cocoa or any chocolate powder to the mixture.

Tips

If you are making for one portion, you mix the ingredients for 10 or more minutes to get the thickness you desired.

I find it easier when I make for three portion, I just multiplied them by 3. And I only mixed it for 3 minutes.

It was found by a gentleman in an airplane seat pocket, on a flight from Los Angeles to Honolulu, keeping him occupied for hours. He enjoyed it so much, he passed it on to some friends. One friend from Illinois worked on this while fishing from his john boat. Another friend studied it while playing his banjo. Some were in a jam, especially since the name of the books were not capitalized, but the truth finally struck home to numbers of readers. To others it was a real job. We want it to be a most fascinating few moments for you. Yes, there will be some really easy ones to spot. Others may require judges to help them. I will quickly admit it usually takes a minister to find one of them, and there will be loud lamentations when it is found. A little lady says she brews a cup of tea so she can concentrate better. During this lock downs and quarantine, people are just finding ways to entertain themselves by joining ‘tag challenges’, installing Tiktok and join the world making short videos, playing games and puzzle, etc. We just need something to pass the time, and that, I think is okay 🙂

I don’t do the tag challenges, I am so sorry for the ones who tagged me to do the challenge. I am just not into it, okay? No inner hurts. But I do love the idea how they encourage every one to be positive during the crisis. It’s fun indeed.

But there is this one, I actually took time to play the game. A friend posted this on one of group chats I’m in.

It took me (40) minutes to find all them. I enjoyed it! As a new mom, it’s not easy to have some time to relax. But while I was searching for the Bible books my baby fell asleep and woke up as soon as finished the puzzle. Isn’t cool? My baby let mommy have some fun for a while. HAHA

Use Bible book names in a sentence

Two of my friends in group chat begin to make sentences with book names in it. I tried to compose and catch up but it’s just… they are so good and the least I can do was laugh. It was fun! Check our conversation. If you know the books of the Bible, you will understand the joke.

NOTE: It’s TagLish Language ( combination of Tagalog and English)

It started when we tease a friend that he searched the answers on google.

Because we are teasing him, he meant to say we are judgmental in jokingly way by using JUDGES.

Judges kayo!

Para lang sa libre! Yhang, bakit ganyan ACTS? ( He meant my actions) Sumbong ko kayo sa TITUS ko e.

(Tito is uncle in Tagalog. Add ‘s’ and it’s plural HAHA)

So, this becomes a “Use Bible book names in a sentence” game.

Amo is a Tagalog word means employer/boss. Add ‘s’ -plural. HAHA. Aling Esther and Peter are couple. They are AMOS (bosses) of Samuel.

Okay, popcorn please. Tiga-tawa nalang ako.

Matthew here is used as ma-chew. Hirap daw ma-chew, nguyain.

Si Jr ay isa a mga friends din, Levi ang tunay nyang name. Pinatawag po sya sa baranggay para makinig sa suggestions nya para mabilis ang distribution ng relief goods sa kanilang nasasakupan. I meant ‘binatikus’ na si Levi. Leviticus Pag di nyo po nagets, okay lang. Ako rin po di ko gets ang sinabi ko. HAHA
